I feel like time is flying by! Waiting for Boogie's arrival seemed like an eternity. I guess because he was our first and we didn't have anything to focus on except counting down the days till he was to arrive. This time around, I'm distracted by the adorable Boogie and the changes he makes everyday. He keeps us moving and laughing and exhausted everyday! Thus, this time around, when people ask how far along I am or how much time we have left, I actually have to stop and think for a minute.
But, now that we've just passed our 35/35 (35 weeks down, 35 days to go) milestone, the pressure is on and reality has slapped us across the face! In just over a month, we will be the parents of two little kiddos!! I'm nervous, scared, excited, anxious....this is going to be a wonderfully crazy ride!! People have been saying we're insane for having our kids so close (and I'm starting to agree with them!). How am I going to keep up with a crazy, wild, full of energy almost 16 month old and attend to the needs of a tiny, breakable, newborn all at the same time?! Boogie and I have fallen into a nice schedule; a predictable daily routine and now our world is going to get "flipped, turned upside down" (yes, I just quoted the Fresh Prince).
My true abilities as a mother are about to be put to ultimate test! I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....
In all honesty, I couldn't be more excited than I am right now. We are so blessed to be welcoming another precious like human into our family. I thank God everyday for being so generous to our family.
We're in the home stretch. Pumpkin's nursery should be done in the next couple weeks, most of the "need to haves" have been purchased, we've got our eyes on the prize. Here's to hoping her birth is as 'easy breezy' as her brother's was and she comes out screaming and healthy (and with a head full of little red curls!!)
As your proud father (and soon to be a double grandfather) says: "I know you can, I know you can!" You and Jason have been the perfect parents and your mom and I are ready and willing to help with "Phase II"!!
